Japanese Vibrators (Not That Kind) Let You Feel What It’s Like To Be Shot

Japanese Vibrator Simulates Gunshot

The Kajimoto research group at the University of Electro-Communications have come up with a vibrating gadget that can simulate a gunshot on your hand. Maybe they’ll eventually come up with more vibrators for gunshot simulation on any part of your body, but for now, we’ll have to settle with your hand.

The simulator works by sandwiching your hand in between two motors, which are then made to vibrate from strong to zero vibrations (for the upper motor) and zero to strong (for the lower motor). This creates a phantom sensation and makes you feel like something actually passed through your hand (like a bullet.) Crank the motors high enough and you’ll feel like your hand was just stabbed or shot.

It might seem trivial at first (and at second glance), but maybe this gadget can help people on the side of the law prepare themselves for what might come, should they find themselves in the line of fire.
